Mid Island Brick Fest is a free one day family event focussed on LEGO®! It is held at the end of October at Country Club Centre in Nanaimo. Once you’re inside the mall, you can find us between Shoppers Drug Mart and the library.
Mid Island Brick Fest features a huge LEGO® exhibition showcasing MOCs (My Own Creations) created by MILUG members and visiting AFOLs (Adult Fans of LEGO®) and TFOLs (Teen Fans of LEGO®). There is no cost for adult/teen fans to display their creations but they must register in advance to ensure there is enough space.
This event isn’t just about looking at amazing LEGO® creations but it is about interacting with LEGO® in lots of different ways in our various LEGO®-related activities. Activity stations often include a number of the following:
- Play brick
- Wacky race ramp
- LEGO® Stuntz Bikes skee-ball
- Minifigure bingo
- LEGO® stop motion videos
- LEGO® photography
- Public build contests
- Guess the number of Minifigures
- Search and find
- LEGO® fun facts
- LEGO® books
- LEGO® colouring
- Demonstrations by special guests including Nanaimo Science and Nanaimo’s chapter of First LEGO® League.
