The actual VIEX made from LEGO®!
MILUG was invited to exhibit at the VIEX (Vancouver Island Exhibition) at Beban Park in Nanaimo after missing out the past few years due to changes made to the event during and after the pandemic. It was great to be back! To celebrate 130 years of the fair, MILUG created the VIEX fairgrounds and midway out of LEGO®. And we built it in 3 weeks! In honour of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we also created an orange flower display. We also had some fun activities for LEGO® fans of all ages including play brick, wacky race ramp, and LEGO® Stuntz Bikes skee-ball!
The display of the fairgrounds and midway was a favourite among attendees. It was lots of fun watching people’s reactions as they realized they were looking at a re-creation of the fair including the building they were standing in and that there was even a microscale version of the MILUG model of the fairgrounds!
Our model of the fairgrounds included everything you could find at the fair including animal barns, horse barrel racing, wrestling ring, tractor parade, dog agility, dirt bike jumping, the festival stage and beer garden, arts and crafts, food trucks, kid zone including the crayon bouncy castle, and of course the midway with all the rides and carnival games.
