Christmas Market Alpine Display
MILUG was back at the Christmas Market at Dover Bay Secondary this year. This is a wonderful family-oriented market and we were so happy to be welcomed back to be a part of it once again.
This year, MILUG decided to create a Holiday Alpine Resort display inspired by this year’s Winter Village Collection set, the Alpine Lodge (10325). We used a snowy base landscape with varying heights and decided on a rough standard for the buildings.
We filled the display with fun winter, holiday, and alpine scenes throughout to bring our alpine resort to life. Some of these scenes included ice sculpting, Christmas market stands, skiing, snowshoeing, skating, and even photos with Santa!
We also brought our play brick and our Stuntz bike jump game for everyone to interact with and have some fun! The play brick was used for building brick-built hearts for the LEGO® #BuildtoGive Campaign. The LEGO® Group donates a LEGO® set to a child in need for every heart built and shared on social media with the hashtag!
As part of our contribution to the display and to inspire others to build hearts for Build to Give campaign, we built a large heart-shaped wreath during the event. This was added to our display of hearts built by our members and the public, which also included a holiday heart train. The hearts were used to create an even bigger Build to Give heart display at Country Club Centre (in front of the Wellington Library branch) for the month of December to inspire even more LEGO® fans to build hearts!
As always, we had a great time putting this display together and being a part of this event. It’s such a great community event and we felt so lucky to be a part of it.
