Literature Meets LEGO!
One of MILUG’s favourite collaborations is with our local Vancouver Island Regional Library – Wellington branch. We work with the children’s librarian to select popular books and then our members turn them into LEGO creations. The literature-inspired MOCs (my own creations) then go on display at the library to promote reading! Members are welcome to recreate the cover of their book, a main character, or a page from within the book. It’s fun seeing the different styles of MOCs including mosaics, sculpture, and minifigure scale MOCs among others. Hopefully you’re inspire to build a page out of your favourite book!
If you want to see the MOCs in person, be sure to head down to the Wellington Library to take a closer look. We have received some awesome feedback and you just might see some future literature MOCs in your local school library!
