The new VW Beetle has been announced!
I have been waiting to see what the LEGO Group would come up with for the next Volkswagen Beetle and it has finally been announced!
Set 10252 Volkswagen Beetle will be sold to VIP members July 14, 2016 and then to the public August 1, 2016. The price will be on par with the other LEGO Creator Expert vehicle sets being sold at $129.99 (the MINI Cooper (10242) is sold for $119.99 and the VW Van (10220) is sold for $129.99 CAD) and has just over 150 fewer pieces (1167) compared to the VW Van (1334) unlike the first VW Beetle (10187) that had 1626 pieces and was sold for $169.99 CAD.
I personally love the colour (I have seen mixed reviews) and the addition of a cooler and surfboard on the roof racks is awesome. The set also features a printed VW logo!
I decided not to purchase the new Creator Vacation Getaways (31052) set, despite really wanting it when rumours about it started circling before it was officially announced, in hopes that the new VW Beetle would be awesome and I am glad I waited!
